I've noticed that when a person is quoted, there is no notification system in place to let the quoted user know he has been quoted. I've looked around the site settings and stuff and have found nothing (unless I missed it?) I've been on other forums that have this neat function and it proves really useful. It's hard to keep track of all the threads an individual has replied in, leading to questions and comments between users being missed. Does anyone else here feel the same? I'm hoping this would get the attention of the mods and hopefully get something moving. I think SDN would be an even more productive forum.

That would get rather annoying for people who contribute a lot.

This little icon shows up to the far left of any thread you have posted in.

When I visit the forum, I can scan those icons to find the threads I posted in, then click on the downward chevron button to go to the first new post. No need for excess notifications.

you can also set it to automatically subscribe to every thread you contribute to so you can check your subscriptions rather than scanning the forum for the icon

I think that would be a nice feature. Often times I'll scroll through a thread just to see if anyone replied to what I posted.

yeah I guess, but I only check the front page. Older than that I don't usually care. And I'm typically using SDN mobile which very nicely pulls out the threads I've participated in. I just think getting notifications for that would get really annoying.

Thanks for the tip. On the other hand though, unless you're being quoted excessively and irrelavently, I don't think it can reach annoyance-levels easily. I don't think anyone here gets quoted to an excess level on a daily basis to where it would reach annoyance levels. It facilitates communication. I too find myseld scrolling through pages of new posts just incase I missed a quote from someone

If you use Tapatalk on your phone (it's free), it notifies you when you're quoted. I believe the SDN app does this as well, but I don't use it.

In another forum that I contribute a lot, they have this feature and it's not annoying, it's actually super useful!

Sent from my Nexus 4 using SDN Mobile
