Hello,
So I am trying to prepare porcelain fused to metal crowns for the first time. I went through Shillingburg, but I have a few doubts. Can someone please help in the steps for preparing PFM crowns .I know you need a shoulder on buccal & chamfer on lingual.
1.Do we need to make wings on while preparing or just merge them? What is the normal procedure in most schools?
2.What is the thickness of the wings, if needed?
3. If there is no wings, how & where do I merge both finish margins?
4. Is there a need to place a bevel in shoulder?
5. When preparing PFM on #30/#19, will the occlusal reduction follow all the 5 cusps? I mean, do I need to keep the smallest cusp in the occlusal outline?
Thanks alot
