I've come to realize that this program isn't aligned with my values and has become a difficult environment for me. I initially hoped I could push through the full two years, but now, facing another year, it feels unsustainable. I'd really appreciate any advice on how to begin the process of transferring.
At this point, I'd rather start fresh—even if it means committing to another two years elsewhere—than continue in a situation that’s not working.

I haven’t heard of people transferring in peds like they do in OS except one person who transferred from one Langone to another , if you’re at a Langone maybe you could , otherwise probably a tough sell, if you can tough out one more year you’ll be a pediatric dentist , if you stop now may not be able to get in again somewhere else ,what is making it so unbearable ?

It's a toxic work environment. We are a small program and 3 of the residents hate each other and it makes the resident room insufferable. The attendings are not there to teach. They are in 10 minutes late and leave as soon as the last patient checks out. No one (faculty and residents) want to work. I came here expecting to work my butt off and it's been exhausting picking up the slack. Mental and physical help has deteriorated first month in and continues to.

I’m sorry to hear you struggling with this! Is there anyone that you can talk to such as an administrator etc to address your concerns ? Your health definitely comes first before anything , should follow your instincts , but be careful, unless you have some guaranteed option to proceed somewhere else , I don’t think it’s possible to go through Match again, I’d also call and ask them to be sure as well, good luck !
