Any body knows which programs will accept applications for PLS fellowship , starting as a PGY-4? (meaning, completing PGY1-3 in GS and starting plastics PGY 4-6)...Cleveland Clinic in florida used to do this...don't know about any other program that does this.

basically no programs do this anymore. technically you can be accepted into the PRS program after 3 yrs of GS, but this has to be at the same institution. This is how the combined model works. However, this is slowly being fazed out as most programs with this format are going to become integrated (PRS resident from day 1 out of med school) in the near future. This will leave the independent (fellowship) model as the only other pathway. While it is possible to jump from the GS g-3 level into the PRS-1 level at the same program with an independent model, this is exceedingly rare as mentioned above. what this means is that you either match into PRS straight out of med school (integrated or for now combined model) or match into the independent pathway after finishing a GS, ENT, Ortho, Uro, or Neurosurg residency.
