I got three weeks left and I pharm is kicking me in the tail! Please give me advice, any advice would help! I've been able to cover BRS Phys and Path already so I feel I've got a great grasp on some things, can't get the drugs down though!

Thanks in advance

i think fa covers pharma quite well...good for last min cramming.

I have about two weeks left, and this weekend I copied the key drugs pages from baby Katzung (there are about 10 pages of drugs--200 drugs in all--with 2-5 lines summing the drug up--use, mechanism, significant tox). I ended up making flash cards out of them (which is a good way for me to learn), but you could probably also just cover up either the drug names or the description of the drug and work back and forth. I feel like pharm is starting to click a little more each time I go through it.

My only caution would be that if you didn't understand basic concepts in pharm (kinetics, dynamics, general classes of drugs), there probably isn't enough general information to make up for it

Good luck!

i used lange flashcards, which pretty much had the same stuff as FA had and not much more, but using flashcards worked pretty well for helping me to memorize the drugs that i just could not get a hang of. whether you use those flashcards or make your own as the previous poster did, i think they are a great study aid. oh, and spending some quality time with the autonomics section in FA and possibly reviewing autonomic drugs and/or physiology in another book (katzung, lippincott, BRS phys) may be worth your while as those drugs are high yield but require more understanding than just basic memorization.
