Hah, I was just about to post a message inquiring about the Board Simulator Series (BSS) books because I'm planning on picking it up but had some doubts that I myself would like to know. *Edit : moving BSS to another topic, this will stick with your pharm question.*
Onto your first question though - I'm sure others will give some better advice for pharm - I heard you can't go wrong with learning pharm from Kaplan - many have used this in conjunction with first aid.
First Aid is what most use, but I am assuming that most are sticking with FA because their pharm was relatively fresh from school and there's not much "trickery" involved in pharma questions - provided you know the mode of action/side effects / contraindications, doing usmleworld/qbank questions - you should be straight.... there's also video lectures by kaplan too - if you're really in the deep. To add, Katzung and Lippincott's pharm but they're pretty big - just like the kaplan pharm....
For some making flash cards help. You can run through those whenever you have some idle time.
