just wanted to know what you all thought about the pharmacology note cards (lippincott) i think. i'm debating on whether i should buy them or not. i've got lippincott, the review book and am wondering if the cards would help.

any comments are greatly appreciated.

I have the pharmcards as well, and they have waaaayyy too much info to be particularly useful, unless you are looking at 3 or 4 at a time. Also, a lot of the cards will list EVERY drug in that class, instead of 2-3 which are indicative of the class. Makes it too hard to figure out and use for a "quick pick up" of info.

I recommend just making your own. This helps in that it narrows down the amount to what your class requires, and making them is one step in the memorizing process.

Bottom line, they are a waste and would not recommend.

plus part of the learning process is aided by the fact that you're making them yourself.

had the netter atlas cards, waist of money

Yup, I agree with the poster who said that they were a waste of time. They are way too specific for USMLE purposes, and you are better off learning whatever notes they give you at your school for test taking purposes. If you really want cards to practice from, I would reccomend making your own since the process of making cards can sometimes be as useful as studying from them and you can leave out all that extraneous info they put on the pharm cards in the bookstore. Those cards get out-dated pretty quickly too.
