Just curious, if a practicing pharmacist who has been out of school for some years is interested in pursuing a Ph.D in the pharmaceutical sciences, toxicology, etc, will that person be exempt from taking medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, etc in grad school, so that their length of Ph.D program would be shorter to complete? Also, would the answer the same for Pharm.D students interested in pursuing a Ph.D in any one branch of the pharmaceutical sciences in a state different than their place of Pharm.D education?

Thanks

That would be highly individualized based on the program and whether or not the PhD program feels the courses are equivalent.
