Hi Guys,

I hope everyone's holidays and breaks are going well!
I think I know the answer, but I just want to be completely, completely sure lol.

Initial deposits to schools never commit you to attending that school?

I just want to make sure I keep the window open for my first choice school, but I want to make sure I am going somewhere next year 👍

Thanks!

No, it just holds a spot for you.

It just holds the spot for you. Just remember however that a number of schools will not refund your seat deposit...nor should they in my opinion. School want to fill their class with the highest caliber student they feel is prepared for their program. By taking a seat in the class (via the deposit) the school likely turned down other eligible candidates. These students may then have accepted seats elsewhere. When you withdraw, the school will fill your seat but perhaps by someone they don't feel quite met your level or caliber. That is why you may lose your deposit.

Thanks! Yea, that is exactly how I thought it worked. I don't have any problem losing my deposit, because after all, its only pennies compared to tuition 🙂
