DO i just go to my local pharmacies, and ask them if they are hiring any pharm techs?

Do i need a resume?

I currently have no work experience related to pharmacy, do i stand a good chance of becomin a pharm tech since i have a license?

I had a job offer over the summer but had to pass it because I can't work full time during school....

But I do have some experience in trying to get a job and will tell you how I do it:

Make a resume
apply online to all the stores (costco, safeway, king's soopers, walmart, walgreens... etc....)
After you apply, they will most likely never call you anyways, so go put some nice polo and jeans or shorts on and bug them at the stores (go see the pharmacy manager and ask him if he has any jobs opening) that you applied for and give them a copy of your license and resume...

then prepare for an interview.

Also, walgreens made me take a test (drug names, sig abbreviations and things that would most likely be on the PTCB exam) so be prepared....

Good luck

Edit: having a license is a huge step and should get you a job....but who knows, the economy stinks

Someone told me that you'll have a better chance of getting a tech job if you apply for a position as a pharmacy clerk first, so you can get your foot in the door. Then they will gradually promote you, as most pharmacies tend to promote their clerks before hiring out. I got a job at Target Pharmacy as a clerk and am taking my PTCE in Nov. hopefully they'll start training me in after I am done with the test.

Oh snap, I forgot about that clerk position...do you think the clerk can be seasonal or part time? here in denver, the pharmacy manager told me that they are only hiring full time pharmacy techs and seasonal pharmacy techs don't exist....

it just I am thinking about working between dec 13 to jan 20 (winter break) so i am only looking for a seasonal job or part time...
