Hey guys-
I've got 3 days out of my 2 week total training done at my new job as pharm tech. There is SO much to learn about the company and about the job. How long did it take any of you to feel comfortable and confident about problem solving at the job? I know this will take time, but I feel so unprepared to deal with patients questions right now.

When I do finally have a grasp of everything, I am confident that I am going to make a very good pharm tech and eventually a very competent pharmacist because it suits my personality perfectly. I am overly organized and like to have every detail attended to. I think this is going to be the perfect career for me.

Thanks for your help
Chris

It takes time to learn everything. Keep working hard and you'll do great. Enjoy it! 🙂

Also, keep in mind with a retail pharmacy that you will be dealing w/a variety of patients. Some nice and some not so nice. Don't let the latter get you down!

sometimes i wake in the middle of the night all sweaty screaming CPAS CPAS CPAS

About 2 months of working full time, then I felt quite comfortable (although I don't know everything...yet.)

I worked for three years as a tech in a retail private chain, if that makes since. Anyway, i just started working at the University of Kentucky Clinical Pharmacy and I feel like such a loser. Its like, all that I know is the drug names/generics. Everything else is totally different than what I was accustomed to. I'm learning though. You just have to keep your head in what your doing and leave everything else (even school) at the door when you walk in to work. You job while your there is to be the best pharmacy tech you can be, not the best pharmacytech/student/new guy(or girl). Dont stress and remember to breath! 😳
