I don't know which ones are the most condusive to studying, but Goodman and Gilman's Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics is the undisputed gold standard of pharmacology.

Other books, such as BRS Pharm, will have more high-yield information for exams, etc.

Goodman and Gilman's, while it may be the gold standard, is far too dense for dental and most medical students. It is probably more appropriate for pharmacy or pharmacology grad students. An appropriate, well written, concise text is Lippincott's pharmacology. If you'd like a text that also includes excellent review questions I'd go with Katzung and Trevor's Pharmacology (not Basic and Clinical Pharm by Katzung <--big text). Hope this helps.

babinski bob, completely true. While we all own Goodman and Gilman's for reference purposes, our text for Pharm is "Pharmacology and Therapeutics for Dentistry" by Yagiela, Neidle and Dowd.

We also utilize BRS Pharmacology (Rosenfeld).
