There is an argument in another thread concerning pharmacist overtime. So what is the real story. Do pharmacists get overtime? I'm talking time and a half after 40.

It depends on where you work.

Here in metro Phoenix, CVS only gives something like a $6.00 differential for anything over 42 hrs/wk.

Walgreens pays time and a half, but it's not like you can just tack a couple hours onto the end of each shift and pick up 10 hrs/wk. ...they'll give OT if you're working additional whole shifts, ie- covering for someone else.

Mail-order may be the easiest place to pick-up scattered OT, if you are able to tolerate the Rx production assembly-line environment.

Not at Publix... you can work over 40 hrs for straight pay.
And no one is grandfathered into any deals. BS, Pharm.D., been there 20 years or 2 months... it's the same for everyone. 🙂

Dang, that sucks. I was going to move back to Florida and work 60 hours a week until my 120K is paid off. Oh well, I heard N. Cali is nice...
