One of the reasons why you would want to live in Texas instead of CA. Put 10% of your income in your pocket.
I lived 8+ years in CA, both Northern and Southern. There is not a big salary difference between CA and TX. At least not enough to offset differences in real estate, one of the major overhead expenses.
There are perks living in Southern Cal. But in order to duplicate my lifestyle, I would need to triple my income to live in Orange county.
