Been with Cvs for 10 years and thinking of switching to Costco or outpatient at a hospital. Sick of this store hour cut, budget cut, tech payroll cut...becoming so inhumane

Anyone here at Costco or outpatient to shed some light? Is it just the same retail BS but a different sign? HOW IS IT LIKE?

Interested in this too. From my talks with other pharmacists Costco is the place to be when in retail and Kaiser for hospital (for the SoCal area at least). If anyone is hiring... *Wink*Wink*

I always walk by Costco pharmacy when I'm there, they always have like 8 people working lol not because they are busy because I see them moving at snail speed and 2 of the techs are always just doing random stuff it seemed like lol

I also know a frd that worked at Costco as a student and told me how busy they were on the weekend with 2 techs and 1 intern... lets just say at the volume that store was doing, I would have only gotten 1 tech haha

Costco is a nice place to work. Try to get a position there if you can. I ****ed up when I was an intern and got a job there but got let go because I broke the air conditioner. (I was told not to touch it the day before, next day was 110 so I lowered it down to 55F, forgot to turn it off before we closed up and the whole damn unit froze up.)

They pay pretty well, their food in the cafeteria is pretty awesome and you get to take your breaks. I remember pharmacists getting an option to take 1 hour lunches by not taking the small 15 minute breaks. The one I worked at had one pharmacist open at 9:30AM and the next pharmacist came in at 1230PM. That way people can take their lunches and pharmacy can stay open.

It's also pretty well known that the company cares about their employees happiness more than their stockholders.

There was a costco opening in my area but didn't jump on it, wondering if that was a mistake....my commute would have went from 25 mins to 50 though. Start over in terms of vacation and salary, then again any employer probably has better prospects than my current one (rad).

Real choice or hypothetical? It is hard to land a Costco job unless you know someone.

Outpatient is usually nice. Limited metrics and better staffing.
