Anyone recommend a good pharmacology book? Not a thick textbook..

Lippincots illustrated pharmacology. It was easy to read and understand. Totally recommend it

Rang & Dales. Our school made us get Golan but every time you went to a professor for office hours with questions they would break out Rang & Dales. Much easier to read and really good diagrams. Their flashcards are worth their weight in gold. The last card in each section visually sums up all the MOAs in one epic diagram.

I'm also looking for a good, but cheap, pharmacology reference book. Do you guys think older editions of the above books will suffice or are the newer versions that much better?

Older by one edition is fine. P&T/D&D will cover pharmacology of any brand new agents.
Rang & Dale's is written in England so sometimes generic names don't match up, but it's pretty obvious.
Once the 10th edition of Koda-Kimble came out I bought the 9th ed. used for $8 w/shipping, sold it back 2 years later for $17.
