Hi,

I've been accepted into school starting this fall and need to do some financial brainstorming for this great adventure! Has anyone heard of any available student loan/debt forgiveness programs that are available after you complete your PharmD? I think there's something in Minnesota - but anywhere else? I know there are some programs for doctors and nurses that if they committ to practicing in an "underserved" or rural area for X number of years, the government forgives $$$ per year, on top of providing them with a liveable salary & benefits. Any ideas? Has anyone had any experience with those programs? Thanks in advance.

1st- try doing a search

2nd- The military offers what you are looking for

There are lots of them. Check with the retail chains if you want to know now. A lot of them let you work like 4 hours a month and during breaks while allowing you to take part in their tuition forgiveness.

Do you have any links? CVS straight up told me there was no tuition forgiveness available.. only a $5K/year scholarship for the last two years of pharm school with a contract. I thought this offer was a joke really - who would obligate themselves with them for only $10K? I have pissed more than that away in undergrad loans! 😡

That's about the same as Walgreens offers I believe - it's about enough to cover books.

Thanks everyone for the info so far, keep it coming!

US Army is commissioning.

BTW: you get awesome tax breaks while your playing in the sandbox.😉
