Do you have any idea how much does a graduate pharmacy intern receive working at CVS pharmacy at NJ or CT. Just curious because a friend of mine is offered a $19.50/hour which she says better than Walgreens offered to her.

Wow, I guess Walgreens don't need many pharmacists up there on the east coast. Here in the midwest, I heard they are getting close to $36/hour as an graduate intern (and we are one of the location-based scholarship areas, so maybe thats why?). Supply/demand, I suppose.

It's ~$37/hour where I'm at in Texas and I'm in an area that's not in short supply of pharmacists.

Ohio is half pharmacist salary.

Florida is $37/hour for CVS and Walgreens.

So she already graduated and is waiting to take her NAPLEX? That seems awfully low to me for a graduate intern. It's around $38 in Central Florida for Walgreens and CVS.

What year in school pays this high? Is this after graduation from pharmD?

a graduate intern is someone who has graduated PharmD school but hasnt taken their NAPLEX/law exam

Hi! i am new in this forum, i would jut like to know if somebody knows any current openings for an intern position in michigan? I already have my FPGEC certificate, michigan interns license and have work permit.

Thanks!

👍I just have a question about working as a graduate intern for CVS. Unfortunately Walgreens does nor hire any interns in Florida....unbelivable!!!And I was with Walgreens as a tech for last 2 years! So now I am looking at other options...how is work in CVS in Miami? How about Wallmart or Navarro. It seems strange for me to go somewhere else because I considered everything else as a competition....but I guess that is a life.🙂

Actually if you read a few posts above yours you'd see prices quoted for Walgreens interns in Florida.

I have worked for Walgreens, I know all about this company, I was asking about other chains, if you read carefully, you would know, but thanks anyway

florida is 2/3 pharmacist salary.

CVS in NY and CT is half the RPh pay....I think NJ is the same, too.

I have one more question about grad salary. Does anyone knows how much they pay in North Carolina? Walgreens or any other chain?

Usually one-half the pharmacist's hourly rate. Couldn't tell you for sure on the hourly rate, as different areas have DRASTICALLY different needs (hello Fayettenam!) so their rates are a little different.

Does anyone know how and where to apply for internship.. I am looking for a graduate pharmacy internship in MA.. and what is the average salary per hour for a graduate pharmacy intern. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.. 🙂

I was wondering if anyone knows how much a graduate intern gets paid in Kansas. I finished my FPGEE exam and i will start applying for position, so i was wondering which chain pharmacy pays the most where I live (Lenexa, Kansas). Thank you so much for your help in advance.

did you do your internship in Kansas? you mentioned that you made 1/2 what a pharmacist makes, how much is that?
Thanks again

The way the job market is, I would just find a job wherever you can. The difference in money between chains isn't very substantial according what I've heard from friends going into retail.

How does someone graduate without taking the NAPLEX? I understand getting the degree but the time period between getting the diploma and taking the test can't be that long to where you have to ask us this question, right?

You can't take the NAPLEX until after you graduate. I say most take the exam within 3 months of graduation. I believe I was paid about $42 an hour as a grad intern, and a regular Pharmacist was paid about $57 an hour.

From what I have seen/heard, here in the Central Florida area Grad Intern pay is ~$35...whomever said $37 above is probably spot on.👍

hi everyone
One of my friends who is a graduate intern pharmacist got a job at target pharmacy as an intern for only $15 an hour. We live in Kansas, is this reasonable? I think it's too low but i don't have a lot of experience since i'm looking for an intern position myself. If the salary is too low can someone tell me what would be a reasonable salary for a graduate intern in our area? Thanks alot

Judging by what everyone has already said in this post, that is a rediculous wage. I make that taking phone calls for deaf people...

Your friend is getting hosed. I made at least 50% if not 75% of a pharmacist wage in my brief time as a grad intern.

I only made $8.50 when I was a relay operator!

My rate is 75% of $55, and no, I don't work at CVSucks. 👎

hahaah - What's a relay operator? It sounds like the women who worked the phone-board, from the lassie sitcom...

This ^ too

75% was the offer from wags in Florida and a rural hospital in Oregon (for data points)

$15 an hour sounds more like a student intern's wage. If they have already graduated from pharmacy school and just need their intern hours to get their license then Target's getting a pretty good deal there. No offense, but your friend should have researched pharmacist pay a bit before taking the job.

Relay operators make phone calls for deaf people. I only have to do it for 2 more weeks thankfully, 2 years of it is quite enough.

LOL I did it for a year, during the height of the iprelay.com crisis. It was sort of awful. But it made me sure that I wanted to go back to school!!!
and has caused me to horribly judge deafies since. SKSK:scared:

Yes, cute old ladies that call pharamcies for 50 packs of acuview active test strips....i took those fraud calls until my eyes bled. luckily they make all deaf users register now, which has cut back alot on fraud, but its still there.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Try Nigerian scammers.

And imagine your worst entitled Medicaid patient. And imagine them calling their parents a week after they got their SSI check asking for money because they spent it all on a CAR STEREO. Remember, this individual is deaf.

There were dozens of the exact above scenario the year Iw orked there.
