$6/ $17.50

hope that helps

Really? I was paid $20/hr as an engineering intern during undergrad.

But I'm still gonna be a pharmacist! 😀

At Publix I believe the interns make $25/hr here in Florida.

I'm a 1st year student at an accelerated, 3-year program, and CVS is paying me a whopping $10 in Massachusetts. I get a dollar raise after I attend some training classes next week.

Well -- I'm a certified tech and I make $12/hr at Target.

My boss said that will jump by $2 probably when I'm a PY1.

That's not true. My friend made $9/hr as an intern at Publix in Lakeland actually. In the orlando area the highest paid retail interns were from Albertson's/Wal-mart. I made $12/hr at Wal-mart and my roommate made $12/hr at Albertson's. I do have a friend who worked in a hospital but it wasn't an internship, he'd make $25/hr in the IV room and working from 5pm-12:30am. He also had to drive 45min away.

I worked as an uncertified technician at Publix in Orlando during college and I made $10/hr by the time I moved back to Lakeland, which was 2 1/2 year into the job. So I don't know why your friend made only $9, unless that's where they start the pay. I started at $6.50 as a tech. But I think graduate interns are the ones that make $25/hr come to think of it. Which means they have graduated and have not take the boards. I think the max for regular intern might have been $12 or $12.50. But again, that's maximum.

Yeah she's been making that. She's been there for a few years, she might have gotten $1 raise but I'm not sure. Also, she works at an independent pharmacy that's owned by Publix which might be why. I know that in this area they (publix) are some of the lower paid interns. $25/hr makes sense as graduate interns, that's around what other companies pay.

brizzle...I feel ripped off.

I'm a P-2 and make 13.00 bucks per hour at Target. I was told that raises are a dollar per year of pharmacy school and that merit raises are generally not given to interns.

I hear you on the "guest" and gift card situations.

Another thing I hate is "Can I help you find something?" If you change that phrase AT ALL, they get on you for it! (For example "Can I help you find ANYTHING?" is wrong) It's really lame. It's one thing to have company policies. It's another to be completely inflexible.

The sad thing is that Target is considered retail heaven. It doesn't get any better than this.

Me<----Not going into retail after graduation (but appreciate the experience)!

me too! I getting certified as a psa this week then I have to do the tech classes then i get the $11 an hour.

I think CVS pay rate for interns is
(once you are certified)
P1-$11
P2-$12
P3-$13.50
P4-$15
Once you finish your 4th year rotations before you pass the naplex you get the graduate intern rate which is $34.50 and hour- then once you sign your contract I have heard between $46 (if you took their scholarship money) to $50 with signing bonuses (hope those are still around when I graduate !).

The raises per year ARE $1 per hour and aren't merit based. But my pharmacist told me that it's up to him and the HR guy about how much it will jump when I get into pharmacy school.

They've been really generous with our tech hours and pay. He also told me that it's a different pay scale for techs hired that are already certified and techs hired that are uncertified but become certified later on.

I picked up PDX in like the first 3 days I was there. I think it's a great system. All the stickers and wrappers and stuff for the ClearRx system are a bit tedious but I think the patients are more amused by it and I think it's easier to check/etc.

It is kind of funny when you answer the phones "Can I help you find something?" in the pharmacy; it catches a lot of folks off guard.

I hope you're joking about answering the phone like that!

i have been working as a tech for 3 years and my pay has only risen 1.00 in the whole 3 years. i prob need to find a new job.

I don't have any interns here.. but I would start them at $13.00 per hour.

Then instead of tech work, I would have them shadow my clinical pharmacist and do cool projects...and give inservices and education for pharmacy, nursing and med staff.

The intern will have to give new drug presentation to the P&T Committee...

And if ever interested, I would let the intern work on some of my pharmacy management piece of the work. ... So I can go out and golf. :meanie:

I need to work for you, Zpacksux! It's soooooo boring being an "intern" at my hospital because all I do is repetitive tech work -- cart fills, Pyxis refills, and packaging.

I get paid a little more ($15.70/hr vs $14/hr) because of weekend shift differentials than my retail job, but I actually look more forward to working as an intern in retail where my pharmacist lets me do almost everything she does. I really miss the patient interaction -- even the scary ones -- when working in the hospital.

Make sure to use KY when you bend over for Zpack...I hear his 9 iron is huge

i'm a pharm tech at target and i get paid $10.25@!! i feel like im getting ripped off. ive been working a year and just got my review...so i guess it'll go up a dollar?

I'm a PS-2 and just started at Target at $14/hr. From comparing with friends that work at Walgreens and CVS we're about equal in pay scale. Well, that's taking into consideration that my Walgreens friend is certified and makes $15/hr. However, I talked to my pharmacy manager at Target and she said if I were to get certified it would be an extra $1/hr so then we would be equal. The payscale for interns starts at around $12 (PS-1), then goes to $14, $16, $18 and $23 for a graduate intern.

What state are you in? I'm certified and I get $12/hr as a tech.

At the hospital I work at the interns work as techs and get paid as techs. But they get about $12/hour plus differentials depending on the shift. Weekend dif is 50%, so for working two 12 hour days on the weekend the pay is as if you had worked 36 hours and is considered full time.

i work in california

Hello
Hope you are doing well. Do you know the best website to find intern jobs in Houston/Dallas areas, please response to [email protected]
thanks very much, kindly appreciate any help

i make $12 as a photo tech at costco. If you are making less then that your being ripped off. All I had to do was pass a technicians test.

i make $15.75 an hour at walgreens and our intern said she makes the same as a tech

When I started as a tech at CVS/Pharmacy in Wisconsin I was making only $6.40 an hour. As an intern I make $15.00 my first year in the program.

Wow I am being RIPPED off. I work at Walgreens too and I only make 9.75 a hour. 😡 Not enough to deal with some of the BS I see everyday...🙄

lol...you sure? i see A LOT of bs hahaha

I'm at $15 + bonus which works to a little over $16 an hour at Walgreen's as a senior tech. I'm hoping when I become an intern the base pay will bump up more since I'll be losing out on the bonus.

It's all about how you present yourself, I suppose, but Walgreen's seems to pay the best of the pharmacies in the D/FW area.

I make $13.35/hr at a hospital.

Unfortunately, I don't get a lot of gen.pop. contact and therefore don't get to tell any cool stories about horrible customers, since most of my day is spent following around clinical pharmacists and doing their bidding.

I work for Giant Eagle in Ohio and started out at $8.10 but i am up to $9.65 after 2 years as a tech. I will be working there during the summers as an intern and will start out at $12 and hour and you get a $2 raise for each year. Grad Interns make half of what they signed on for.

As a CPhT I make around ~$13/hour. When I become an intern in one month, I will bump up to ~$17/hour. I work at Walgreens. I think p1 makes around 17/hour, p2 19/hour and p3 over 20/hour.

I get paid in beef jerky, 2 pounds of sweet and spicy jerky/hour, delicious...

I will possibly be working as an P1 intern at CVS in Buffalo, New York. Does anyone know how much CVS pays for P1's? As a tech, I make $12.65 after about 3 years of working. I sure hope that they pay me more than brand new interns because I need the money 🙂

I don't think you can work as an intern until after your first year at UB.

I don't think you can work as an intern until after your first year at UB.

Why's that? I don't think there's a restriction at UB and my pharmacist supervisor did not mention anything about this. During my interview, I talked to Dr. Balthasar about working during school and he did not mention it.

From what I heard, you don't get your intern license until after your P1 year. Ask a current UB student if you want verification.

I work at Walgreens too...as a certified pharm tech I make $18.50/hr

CPhT at my place. 19.50/hr

once i go intern, i'll drop to around 15 flat.

Interesting to see how pay has changed over the last few years.

Right now, I'm making $17/hr as a P2. That should go up when I start P3.
Last summer I made $16.50 as a P1 at CVS.

Tis true. I just finished P1 year and we get our intern licenses in another week or 2.

I am a pharmacy tech at CVS. Does this mean that I will be paid as a tech only during my P1 year?
