Hi everyone

It's that time of year to pick FINAL year rotations. I want to go back home to S. CA (I go to school out of state) but I have absolutely no idea where (exactly, ie specific examples??) I could get a valuable hospital learning experience that would prepare me for residency. I'd like an experienced setting that knows how to teach students and possibly train them to be confident resourceful pharmacists as opposed to offering no sense of direction whatsoever. Also, what problems would you anticipate that I encounter, and how I can overcome them? I can already think of one: that the better sites would be allocated to CA students first and foremost.

Please, please help!

if you like CA so much, why didn't you just get your pharmD education in a california school?? there's like 5-7 schools in CA to choose from (i think this is the most # of pharmacy schools in a state, no?), so not that difficult. i've met a lot of pharmacists who are from CA and go to schools out in the boonies (like nebraska or oklahoma or somewhere rural) & then come back.

yeah, many of the good CA rotations are allocated to CA pharmacy schools.good to see you're acting early. call a hospital of interest or something & maybe they can help you. good luck

don't y'all realize the whole state of california is on fire??

hmmmm - not so much. But, lots of S CA. San Diego Cty has been hit the worst, bu the burn pts are going to UCSD.

Some schools limit on what rotations you can take. At UIC, you can only pick rotations based on a list.
