I assume that Pharmacy schools, especially public ones, will lean towards in state applicants more so than out of state applicants. However, will they lean towards applicants that are currently seeking a degree in their University rather than in state students from another? Will it make a difference?
I ask this because I am trying to apply to schools that participate in the WUE program, which allows undergrads to get discounts on tuition in participating western states. In Alaska, as far as I know, there are no Pharmacy schools. I am trying to get the highest chance of being accepted into a pharmacy school and I also want to save the most money by staying in one state for the duration of my education, so if they DO give preference to those in their university, would it be advisable to enroll into a WUE school until I can qualify for resident tuition and then transfer into another university? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
