Anyone attending the Virtual fair tomorrow and on the 4th? I work full time and will not be able to make it on both days.

I will. Im going to check it out after I get off work. Schools that I am interested in will be available until 6pm to 8pm.

When I got the emails about the virtual online fair, I just figured it was another hook just to get more of my money.

Is this fair going to be valuable?

dude, well its FREE. and yes you can live chat directly with admissions staff from over 130 schools. I used it today. Many schools are learning how to use this program but I signed up for it and I think it's valuable.

I chatted with three schools today. It was very helpful. You are live chatting with advisors and the answer any questions you have on the spot. They are desperately trying to sell you on their program though. Its kinda funny on how obvious it is. Overall, it was not a bad idea. It was free, so cant really complain.

I talked with about 10 schools today and all of them said that GPA is more important than PCAT, I think there was one that said PCAT and GPA are weighted equally. But on this forum I always here stuff about how some schools really look at your PCAT and weigh it more than GPA. What schools weigh PCAT more than GPA? Im starting to think its a myth

I agree. I can only speak for my school, but the adcoms I have spoken to about this all agree they don't look at the PCAT for deciding between candidates, as long as you meet the minimum. Someone who gets a 95 does not rank above someone who got a 60 to them. Fair or not, they think other parts of the application are more important. Quite different than med school where I am taken to understand the MCAT is quite important.

I chatted w/ about 4 schools today..learned some things I did not know about their various curriculums..! It is open tomorrow too, so I would recommend going on there if you get a chance.

Highly recommend going. I went last year and it really helped. :D

It was yesterday also. I talked with three schools in the northeast. They do there best to answer your questions without answering your questions because they want you to apply and get your fee. Every question I asked they answered "it may be taken into consideration." And I was asking does having a BS look better than someone transferring just pre-req?, do you prefer local candidates if you are a public school?

A few schools seemed pretty helpful, actually giving solid answers to questions.

Unfortunately, the schools I'm hoping to get accepted to basically just referred people to their websites and gave meaningless responses that were probably copied & pasted.

LECOM was super nice. I wasn't sure about applying there, but the people in the chatroom were super friendly and gave me so many details that I probably know more about it than other schools. I didn't learn much about my top choices though - some of the people seemed to contradict each other and when I asked for clarification I got no response.
