Hi - I have a ten year old. Is it OK to let folks know I have a kid when applying or are they going to think, "no way you can do this program and have a family life!"?

Thanks

Let me tell you this. I know there are a LOT of people with a family AND a job while in pharmacy school and they are doing great. I think one guy graduated with a 3.5 when he graduated. The ADCOMS are going to look at your GPA (and maybe PCAT)and see if you can successfully complete the program. No way they are going to reject you solely based on the fact you have a family

A graduate intern i worked with over this last summer was 40 years old, had 3 kids all between 8-16 and worked during school. She was also divorced, but had majority custody. So its very possible.

Needless to say, she now is a pharmacist, she passed her boards about a month ago.

Thanks!

I am writing my personal statement and want to point out that she changed my view of the world when she came along - made me think about what we are and what we are doing here.
