Hi everyone!

quick questions/comments.

I know a lot of ppl on here made comments about wanting to learn new pharmacy software systems but lots of ppl on here say don't sweat it but I'm new to the American job market. I think it would be good to put familiarity with different software systems on my resume - especially for independents which is where I want to go but I feel that I'm going to be resigned to starting out with one of the chains.

outside of working for a pharmacy that uses such software, anyone have any leads/pointers on how one might learn QS1, PDX or McKesson pharmaserve? software simulators anyone? heck even if I had to pay a small fee just so I can say I have some familiarity with the software.

for those applying to retail do you like to list your certifications, software familiarities, etc at the top of your resume? reason why I ask is that some of these companies use online resume scanning software and I currently don't have things like bls or immunization certification which I'm working on getting.

Thanks for any input/advice!

Maybe check out the companies' websites for tutorials and such? I wouldn't put that info at the top as the most important info to have to your name is PharmD/education. Then license number to prove you are registered, then certifications, then software knowledge. I don't know that software knowledge will pull much weight in selection, but all else being equal, it may sway them towards you. Just don't let it be your focus.
