I've no experience in pharmacy, let alone tech
but i'm currently studying for the PTCE

anyways
I was wondering what's the difference between a
Pharmacy Technician I and a Pharmacy Technician II?

What about being a certified and licensed, because I was looking through job posting, I've notice some posting says certified or licensed.

It takes a while before you can actually start working in a pharmacy after the exam. The exam scores takes at least 5 weeks to be sent out and then you have to register with the pharmacy board which will take about another 5 weeks for your license to come home. And a major thing you need to worry about is whether someone will hire you. After I pass my exam, I couldnt even find a job for 1 1/2 years because most of the pharmacies want a tech with prior experience. So, good luck to all future techs out there! It's getting brutal!!!

ouch 1 and a half year
I'm getting worried now
but sounds like that process is pretty long

wait but, you mention they send in the scores and you get your license?
so is there a difference between a certificate or a license?
because I thought taking the PTCB you'll get certified and I thought that is different from a license

You get certified by PTCB if you pass the examination but you still need to register with the pharmacy board in CA to get your technician license and be able to work. so it is about at least a 2 1/2 months process

you have be registered by cali board of pharmacy. Look on their site, it has several reqs like live scan, photo, etc....

Passing PTCB exam is one of the reqs for registering for u.

this is an idea for the time it takes to get the license. I took the last written exam offered in november. I was ready to work in mid february.

o wow, sounds like a pretty long process
i've looked at the board of pharmacy site for CA

I'm not too sure whats the process for the license, I see FAQ about
"Cancellation of Registration", "Duplicate/Replacement License", "Name/Address Change", and Renewal of License" (from the Board of Pharmacy website).

it looks like for losing the license to renewal purposes in the website, but doesnt look like registration for a new one?

I don't know. Three month-4 month doesn't seem that long to me.

I am running late and don't have time to look for the pdf with the tech app and registration. Just look for it.

Certified means you have passed the PTCB test.

Registered or liscensed usually menas you've paid your local state some money.

I'm not sure the difference between Pharmacy Tech I and II. If it's at a hospital you probably need advanced skills such as IV's to be a Tech II.
If it's someplace you are applying to call them and ask.

ohh ok,

hey
I was wondering so a 3-4 month process to get ceritified or everything? like after that license and all set to go, takes about 3-4 month process?
