I'm a certificated pharmacy tech with one year experience but when I apply for Giant. They only pay me 8:50/h . So I want to know how much I should ask for my status? My friends say that the minimum wage should be 10/h?

Many factors can influence this. Is the company (Giant) known for high or low salaries? What is the cost of living in the area? How much did you make at your last job? Think about all of these factors...

You've only got yourself to blame, pal! There would've been no surprise had you done research about wages before getting your license. I think the most shocking thing here is that you did not see it coming? In retail pharmacy, techs get crappy pay period. Unless you try to get a job at a hospital, there's nothing else you can do. I bet that they could always find someone who is willing to take your job with that pay, so either you suck it up and do it or just don't take the job.

i've never worked in a pharmacy in my life until i got certified and applied, asked for 10 and got hired

could've got 10.75 from walgreens

Nothing compares to the how bad my boss is...I get paid $8/h and I've worked there for now a year and 1/2!
