Hi everyone,

So I'm planning to take the certification exam to become a pharmacy technician. But I need to start by buying a book.

Do you know any helpful books that prepared you for the test? Like any brand names or secretive companies?

Thanks in advance!!

I recommend this book: http://www.amazon.com/Mosbys-Pharma...pharmacy+technician+certification+exam+review

It has outlines/overview chapters in the front that cover all the topics that will be on the exam and it has 5 practice tests in the back. I studied pretty much exclusively from this book and passed both PTCE and ExCPT. I didn't memorize all the drugs in this book..but knew the endings of the common types (ex: beta blockers tend to end in -lol). I also studied the top 200 drugs...which there are not THAT many drug questions on the test, but you have no idea of knowing which ones.

I just bought the Kindle version of this:

I'm on Chapter 6. It's pretty straight forward and has review questions at the end of each chapter. I've been in Health Services Management in the Air Force for the last six years and have always regretted not going pharmacy. I'm getting out soon and have applied to the University of Arizona for pre-pharmacy, but I'm volunteering at my base satellite-pharmacy and I think once I get out of the AF, I'll try to become a pharmacy tech full-time until next fall when I start school (I'll probably still work part-time, though).

Good luck on the test!
