Hello,
I just finished a pharmacy technician home study program and have absolutely no pharmacy technician experience. Every ad I see in the paper says experience preferred or experienced only. My question to you is where does that leave the new pharm tech graduate with no experience? I mean hell, every pharmacy technician out there even those with 20+ years experience had at one time no experience whatsoever. And with Certification becoming a requirement just since either 95-96, that means that all pharmacy technicians before then had no certifications as well! I just applied for a hospital pharmacy technician job and I hope I get the job. Ive had so many damn pharmacy technician applications in the past be overlooked simply due to lack of experience. Yet I ask you: You cannot get the experience to begin with without an employer giving you a chance and giving you the job, yet nowadays, you wont get even a sideways glance if you don't already have the experience. what a quandary (sp).
and by the way--I cannot afford the 2000+ tuition it takes to go to pharmacy technician schools, and where I am at, there are little if any pharmacy technician schools out there that dont require 4+ hours of driving both ways.
any help?
