PTCB and ExCPT exams. What're the differences? I plan on taking the PTCE asap and apply for a license. I have no prior exp as a pharm tech/clerk.

For most practical purposes, none. I think PTCE is more widely recognized though.

You could if you feel that is the best way for you to prepare. You can also study from a PTCE book, which is the way a lot of people choose to do it. After you feel like you know the material, you can sign up for the certification exam.

A great book I used was Mosby's.
