The law is 1:1, unless you get permission from the board for 1:3, which everyone does. But no one follows the ratio anyway, at least in my experience.
This is true. I have yet to see a pharmacy that does not operate under a 3:1.
Most pharmacists in retail settings do not abide by it. But some do.
The only time this even becomes an issue is in a busy store where the DM will not allow for any pharmacist overlap during the busy part of the day. In which case, you have one technician who does not perform 'technician duties' and only runs the cash register. Then you can have one tech each at drop-off, drive-thru, and production. And that's only if your stingy DM allows you enough hours to keep that many techs there anyway.
Like others stated above it is 1:1 but you can have an approval to be 3:1.
There is currently a bill in the house which will raise it to 6:1. But being real there is always more than 3:1 and whoever is over the amount would just be a "cashier" if the board came in.
