This is for people who considered other fields in health care besides pharmacy when making their decision. The thing I am most concerned about with pharmacy is that it will take 3-4 years to get the degree. I have a BS already and have been working so the idea of FOUR years of school is kinda overwhelming. Are there any other fields that you guys considered (especially those of you doing pharmacy as a second degree)?

PA school is a 27 month GRADUATE education, most schools also require that the applicant have about 2000 hours of medical experience and candy striping does not count.

We have that option at UF. It only requires two additional semesters of school to get the PA. I don't know anyone who's done it though. Everyone in my class wants to be a pharmacist.

At Nova it is a 3 year program because it it a combined BS/MS program. Not all schools are the same!

My point was that PA school is not just two years off the street to PA. I wasnt trying to say all school are the same my point was that there is more to being a PA then just 2 years of school.

yeah this guy......

well I don't understand this route but whatever....

anyway...

he started it too late in the program and will not be graduating with us but graduate the next year.

those who started the MBA program early in the program will have both degrees when we graduate.

I think most intelligent people (esp. those in the health care field) realize that it is a post bac degree. I think this discussion is irrevelent -so please don't bother replying to this.Thanks. Happy 4th! 🙂
