The pharmcas service calculates all grades ever taken (even if your school offers forgiveness credits for courses you need to retake) So if you took a class and got a D the first time and got a B the second time, it averages out to a C for double the units.

ooh this is bad...so they take average of retaken courses..this is it?

All retaken courses are counted both times. But it's better to retake those bad courses than not. It's not that they average it, but they calculate each grade individually.

They would then calculate a D as a 1.0 for 5 units, and then a B as a 3.0 for 5 units and calculate that into your GPA.

Science and math GPA is the GPA for biology/chemistry/math/physics courses you've taken. It doesn't take into account economics, english, etc. etc.

What about health science GPA?
Like nursing courses... Medical surgical Nursing.... Mental Health...

Are they counted as sciences? Or "other courses"?

It's kind of unclear to me.

If your school/institution counts them as fullfilling a biology/chemistry/math/physics component, then it is part of the science GPA.

No, they used the course prefix "NURS" instead of BIOL or PHYS... cool..I hope they don't count it... . coz I got straight B on these boring nursing classes anyway... they shouldn't be counted .... Nursing is just partly science... In my opinion, it's not science....

Thanks for info

I put my nursing classes in as other courses. They are not science, or they weren't where I went
