Pharmcas lagging for anyone else?

Yes, I'm submitting 4 to them. I had already gotten 3 submitted through PharmCAS already, but only need the science professor one to complete everything. The more letters, the merrier! 😉

That's right ! I've gotten 4 people committed to submitting. Three are still working on it, one is on vacation in Europe and I have no idea when I'll get that letter.

why do we need pharmcas? it only slows down the entire application process and charges extr*****$. students have to fill out supplementals for each school anyways. I hope schools realize it.

Acutally, PharmCAS saves the schools a lot of time. PharmCAS calculates GPA and verifies transcripts, so that schools don't have to. PharmCAS also handles letters of rec, saving the schools another thing to take care of. Because each school is different, supplemental applications are where schools can request additional information from the applicant.

has anyone tried contacting their individual schools asking for a 48-hour deadline extension?

I was wondering how that goes, and if it is possible for ED school deadlines or if they will just put you at regular admissions.

I hope I don't end up standing out as self-centered to the school by asking for the extension...

I consider pharmcas to be a bargain personally. You are paying one business to perform a plethora of tasks for you. Now consider if they weren't around and you had to pay each individual school some sort of fee to do everything. You'd end up paying each school like $200 each just to submit your info and calculate your GPA. That's not even including the application fee.

As much as I dislike pharmcas, crappy website, I think they are doing us and the school a service no one else is willing to do.

If you are applying to several schools, it also saves you the time of sending transcripts, LOR's, Personal Statements, etc. to numerous schools.

Still not up for me either. I'm praying my GPA is calculated today so that they can mail it off today. Does anyone know if they would calculate the GPA and mail it off within the same day? It's been since the 28th since my last transcript was received by PharmCas, and I'm really hoping they will mail it out today...I'll stay positive and keep checking. 🙂

i'm pretty sure that if they calculate your GPA today, the earliest it would get mailed out to your schools is next week. my gpa was verified on aug 21 and hopefully it will be sent today.

PharmCAS can take up to 4 LORs, unless if your school specifically wants them sent directly to their school as well.

I talked to the lady at NEOUCOP and she said I guess their deadline is extending 48 hours if anyone cares. I also called PharmCas again and they said they can't do anything about the website, which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but I guess since it's says 9 PM tonight we will all hope that it's up and running then.
