Pharmcas wont save my Personal Statement

Has this happened to everyone I have exactly 4500 characters I can use a backspace to make it 4499. I cut and paste it and click save ...nothing happens it doesn't save at all. When I go back to the application, then click on Personal essay. The personal essay is totally blank. I don't get it. When I re did the same process I can't save it ...I'm getting worried

Figured. It didn't work in Firefox but worked in Internet explorer anyway this might help people who would potentially deal with this problem.

Hmm...weird. It worked fine on my firefox. I'm glad everything is resolved now. 🙂

same thing happened to me and i called in asking. they said there might just be hidden characters that the pharmcas textbox counter isn't picking up. for me, i had to cut it down to under 4495 to get it to save.

Word count in Firefox and Internet Explorer is not the same. Firefox counted my essay 4495 but didn't save it. I used Internet Explore and it counted >5000!!

also what pharmcas told me over the phone might help. copy paste your essay from microsoft word or whatever into a standard plain text notepad. once in notepad, then use the tab to make indents. when you then copy paste from notepad into the pharmcas text box, the indents only cost you one character. after it saves, it'll have every paragraph indented like so except for the first paragraph.

I had to rewrite mine 3 times because I thought it saved and it didn't. I wanted to cry. I had to cut it down a little to about 4450 then it saved.

that is def weird......mine saves .....and i had no formatting problems....

After the first rewrite, I would have saved it in Word so I could just cut and paste if it happened again.
