Hey guys, I just have a quick question. I'm just starting pharmacy school so I haven't gotten into the legalities of everything yet. Say I was crazy enough to do my PharmD, then do a 1 year accelerated nursing program, and go for nurse practitioner part time while working as a pharmacist part time. Once I get both degrees, could I open a clinic and pharmacy at the same location? Sorta like how CVS has minute clinics and Walgreens has take care clinics, but the prescriber and pharmacist are different. Is it legally allowed for the prescriber and pharmacist to be the same person?

At least in massachusetts, the answer is no. A prescriber cannot own or operate a pharmacy. Not sure about other states.
What you have proposed is feasible, however, its best done as RN first then PharmD. Its gonna be weird sitting through a nursing class where the instructor feels out-smarted by a student.
I like your out-of-the box thinking, RN + PharmD = future proof.
Thats a waste of time. Your not going to be practicing both. Your either going to be an NP or an RPh. I say this because with the amount of patients or customers you have each day, your not going to have time to do both jobs.
You can switch back and forth between the two, but thats pretty stupid because you'll still wind up making the max for only 1 salary with 2 separate jobs

Sounds interesting, but too expensive. You would have lots of variety in your work!
