I am preparing for my mba interview
the basic questions are why do you want to pursue an mba? to be honest I want to go to mba school to get out of this retail pharmacy rutt i am stuck in
i am hoping to get an internship at pharma company and then get hired either in medical information or marketing but that seems too general for interviewers so i thought about telling them that i plan on opening up my own pharmacy to learn about the business ins and outs

I plan on pursuing both. I don't think u need an mba to get into industry but it's nice to have. Can't u apply for the internship as is? Industrypharmd is the expert on this subject.

I don't think that's too general. Is your potential MBA school located near an industry powerhouse and/or does it have a business school and a pharmacy school, i.e., a combined degree option? If so, they should be used to students getting their MBAs in the hopes of landing a position in industry. Dual degree students at my school were all required to do a pharmacy rotation in industry, and 1 (of the 4) ended up taking a prime position straight out of school. If you really don't want to open your own pharmacy, then I don't know if I would say I do... if for no other reason, if you don't get in after saying that you want to open an independent pharmacy, you may wonder whether you should have just been truthful and likely more enthusiastic about your real dream job.
