So hear me out. I been sort of thinking and partly influenced by my parents. They suggest that I get another advanced degree or any degree for that matter as I only completed 3 years of Undergrad. I was thinking a MBA. My plans (hopeful) is to get my PharmD, do residency and spent most of my 20s' in more clinical setting while building contacts. The MBA comes in as I had the opportunity to study abroad past summer to China. I was surprised Pfizer had so many big corporate buildings in Bei Jing. I'm sure its not just Pfizer as I know western standard medicine is a lot more expensive in china than their eastern counterpart. We all know there is way more chinese people than there is in the states. This plus the huge economic explosion of chinese economy (they're not short of rich people, people buy lambo at 2-3x the normal price due to tax/regulations and destroy it like nothing happened, i'm NOT exaggerating either) with the 10 year of 10% GDP growth mean there will be a lot more money to get made in this market than the states. I was hoping to use my MBA as a bridge into corporate world while having the clinical/therapeutic/pharmacology background to develop this market. I know i'm saying this like i'm a marketer, and i'm not I did biochem as undergrad but I just think this would be a great idea. What do you guys think? Do you think I should complete a MBA while i'm starting my 3rd year or MBA after I graduate? If I graduate I can potentially apply to a more top tier MBA school. If I do it now I save time and money but I doubt I'll be using my MBA during my clinical days.
