That's me.

Well, I'm kinda desperate since there is no openings in my home area and the grace period for my $100,000 student loans is about to end. $15/hr is low for sure, but at least it's higher than how much I will get paid by local Tapioca Express. Hopefully that's low enough an hourly wage to entice some company to replace one of their current pharmacist with me. :meanie:

BTW, I am only willing to stay in California.

You can work for me! The company will still pay me and I will pay you $15 an hour to do my work. And yes, it is in Cali.

Yeah troll...If you weren't, and you were desperate, you'd move from Cali.

Any pharmacists who live near you, this is a great opportunity. They could open an independent and have another Rph for only slightly more than a tech. Or as Trakker said, you could do their work and give you a portion of the pay.

not a troll...must be some unemployed So.Cal pharmacist looking for work...and not willing to relocate.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm 😕 but I make more than that as a lab tech for a paint company without needing 100k debt to do so.

Tapioca Express probably pays in Cash. So they still make more then you.

it may sound like a troll/joke...but what are you gonna do when u can't get a job and your monthly student loan is due??? Maybe , it's about time to work ...even if the offer is 15 bucks/hr, still better than the painting job.

1) you can defer your loans for up to 3 years for unemployment.

2) move to the more rural parts of CA.

3) offer to work for $45 an hour...most pharmacists make $50+ an hour...no need to offer any less than $45.

Get some classes at a Community College to get it deferred.

As far as my source is correct, places that traditionally are less preferred by pharmacists to work like Lancaster and Fresno are pretty much saturated this year. So, settling for rural areas is not a viable alternative at present.

spelling police!!! wooo wooo wooo! *melon.

great! and i used to hope to land on a job in these areas ...just in case i quit my place.

wow. this is going to be horrible in a few years

My last rotation (hospital) had a pharmacist applying for a technician position. He had been a pharmacist in another state for 10 years, and now suddenly moved to FL and wanted a tech position.

The director didn't even give it a second look.

Though I will take 15 bucks an hour when there is no job out there, I def don't wanna work as a tech

why would you care? you would get less responsibility/liability for the same pay.

Since when is 500K people rural? (500k for Fresno, 300K for Palmdale/Lancaster)

Why not Crescent City, Tehachapi, Scotia? That's rural.

wow...to agree for a pay cut is already bad. To forfeit your schooling and your dignity, that's worse. it's good the director did not hire him. How would he feel if some senior tech tells him to get stuff and suck it up? Can't see that's gonna last long

This has got to be a joke or mistake. This entire thread is a joke. Even if there are no pharmacy jobs out there NO ONE will settle for a job that pays $15 a hour. The only people that settle for jobs that low paying are teenagers. There are plenty of things you can do that makes way more than $15 a hour, it doesn't have to just be pharmacist.

my first pharmacist salary was $19.75 per hour!

Dunno about those, but many manufacturing joints pay north of that, though I think one must be 18 yo.
