Does anybody know about the PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy
in Creative Systemic Studies at University of Louisiana Monroe's new degree that is being offered now. I have a friend that is trying to get in the program. He has background in MFT and is a big follower of Bradford Kenney PhD. I was wondering if anybody is in this program or knows anything about it.

I found out about the program from your post several months ago, have done extensive research, and decided to apply for Fall 2012. It sounds like an amazing program with world-class faculty members. It's geared for clinicians who are already licensed and have extensive experience in the field. It's a 3 year online program & ULM online programs charge in-state tuition rates! Wish me luck.

Just received my acceptance letter.
What would you like to know?

Psychometric-I got my acceptance letter last month, too. Are you starting Fall 2012 or "Don't you dare be the one thing that stands in your way." -Laurel Christensen TOFW SLChave you already started the program? Curious what attracted you to the ULM phd online program...

MSWUT and psychometric what are your backgrounds? What was the admissions process like? GRE, Writing sample, portfolio? Good luck!!

I am curious about what the advantage is to having a PhD rather than a Masters in MFT... does it prepare you for the same license as a Masters program would or does it offer something more?

B.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an MFT -concentration

Hi Laurel. I congratulate you. I am still struggling with the "online" part of it. Not because I am not PC savvy, but because of the online doctorates being frowned upon.

I just finished my my application for ULM and another school, NSU. I was curious what other may be doing with their non-clinical PhD? I am not licensed at the masters level, but I have a unique situation where I am a full time caregiver for a parent who has Alzheimer's. I have limited options from decent schools.
The other program is at Nova Southeastern. Anyone in the ULM program, would be great if you could give some info on the program and plans afterward.

Thanks

It is for practitioners who already hold a Master's-Level license and trains you in research so that you can teach and write books later on. It also widens ones scope of therapeutic practice through novel methods 😉

NSU has a PhD in MFT?

Advice:

Do not go there. Do not apply or attend this program.
It is a non-challenging program run by people who will stalk you on social media to indoctrinate you.
That is their scheme to push a Hokus Pokus agenda Mr. Keeney has put in place to market himself.

He sells existentialism wrapped in "Magic" to make it appear different and mystical; just another gig.

This program will do nothing to further your academic standing and you will only pay money into their pockets.

Not worth a dime. I applied and got accepted elsewhere.

I think generally above 3.50
