One of my friends is considering applying to a few schools for PhD. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. They're finishing their masters in Biochem this semester and did the accelerated BS/MS option in Biochemistry and have been doing a teaching assistantship the past year. Last year they taught general chemistry 1 and 2 labs and this year they are teaching organic chemistry labs..I'm pretty sure they have around 3.4 grad gpa and have volunteering experience and have done research projects..What i want to know is how hard is it to get into the PhD. programs..how competitive is it..especially in schools like maryland, michigan and ohio state...
