My girlfriend and are looking into PsyD and PhD programs. I wanted to know if our scores are competitive for either of these programs. We both have around a 3.4 and 1200 general, 5.0 analytical writing, 630 psychology subject.

Thanks

Dr. Snow. I’m reminded of the Psychologist version of House, M.D. Accurate? I like the show by the way.

I concur with Dr. Snow. Even the question is lacking in substantive information. I was under the impression the question was asking about folks who had a PhD + PsyD degree. Nick, there's always time to apply to chiro school!

Try Hollywood Upstairs Professional Psychology College. They IS da best!

WOW. I've never seen anyone get slammed so hard for a mistake in tense. Not that they don't deserve it.......

I don't know the average PsyD, but the average PhD is around 1300+, and undergrad GPA of 3.7. Plus good match of interest and good letters of rec.

Is this where the social darwinist "in-crowd hangs out? You guys are so cool, I've got to tell you. Maybe you should try actually helping people instead of putting them down, I'd think you would know that with all your "expertise" that you claim to have. God knows why you entered this field in the first place.

It's because I enjoy shocking rats.

It was an error in verb conjugation, not tense  Hope you boys are proud of yourselves.

Hey, DoctorNick83. Hope that one of these days you do indeed get a decent reply to your message, rather than the self-absorbed and unhelpful banter that your original inquiry provoked. Perhaps if you were to provide additional information (e.g. your GRE scores and respective GPAs), then the nice folks on this forum would be able to better help/advise you. Good luck with your plans. Peace.

snow u usually have some valid points, but sometimes u can be a real deushbag

For future reference, this topic was covered in the December 2005 edition of the American Psychologist. The PhD mean was around 1270 with 3.54 GPA. The PsyD was around 3.36, I don't remember the GRE (this is from memory).

This is how you should answer a question
