I am interested in hearing others thought in regard to cohort programs. If anyone is attending a cohort Phd/PsyD programs please tell me yours thought and/or any advise that you may have. Also has anyone heard of Saybook Graduate School? Thanks

Hi, I'm in a cohort program. I will be with the same people until 2013 for every single class. The cohort thing is interesting-- it is pretty much how I expected it to be. Small cliques form within the cohort. There are people who I have connected with. There are others who I don't see myself connecting with at all. Still, it is interesting to think where we will be as a group of people in 2, 3, 4 years.

I've heard of Saybrook! It's in San Francisco, not too far away from where I live! What I've heard, mostly, is that a lot of the faculty that have Doctorate-level education has it in fields unrelated to Psychology, and have relatively weak CVs compared to more "choosy" Psy.D. programs.

Also a brief glance at the Saybrook website revealed that they are not yet APA-accredited, but "is designed to meet APA accreditation requirements."

Your mileage may vary, but that sounds suspect to me. It could be that they're just "too young" to apply for APA-accreditation, but like I said, their faculty CV is sketchy at best.
