Does anyone have any experience with Philadelphia Park (TB racetrack) as far as shadowing vets or anything of that matter? I'd like to get a glimpse of what it's like to be a racetrack veterinarian and will be moving to Philly this June to establish residency in PA 🙂 Do any of you Penn folks know if the school has any ties or programs with the track? This is perhaps a shot in the dark, but it seems that they might have some involvement due to their relatively close proximity. Thanks in advance for your help!

as of yet, we don't have any ties with the track. there was an independent, corporate-sponsored trip to spend time with the vet that was scheduled, but unfortunately cancelled for reasons that escape me now. nothing else has been set up.

you'd be on your own, but it may be possible to just call 'em up and shadow for a day. i don't know much (ok anything) about the track world, but try to get an "in" to make it easier for yourself and the vet. surely some horse person you know knows track people. give it a shot and let us know what you come up with, maybe?
