Philly Geogia campus

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
what I meant was since the school is so new, there's not much to say about the quality of there program. Student life, faculty. Everyone is still getting used to the school not sure what I would say about what attracts me to the Georgia campus. Maybe b/c its affiliated with PCOM?

I said because it's in GA and I live in SC and want to eventually practice here. Was good enough for an interview but not an acceptance.

We'll see how my secondary essay works this year.

that's a good start. talk about how great pcom's reputation is and that you're really hyped about the new location because it fits with your goal to be an osteopathic physician in the south.

They opened the new campus last year.

You tell them why you want to go there, not what other people tell you.
i like this one so much..........

All I can say is y'all have more to go on than we did last year! The great thing about this year's applicants is that y'all will get to see the school and get to meet some of us first years when you come to interview. The school is phenomenal--they've thought of everything, in my opinion. I know none of this is remotely helpful to the filling out the secondary. So what I will say is good luck to you, and hopefully I'll get to meet you at the interview.

I really did like the PCOM-GA campus, but it didn't like me! Interviews should be better this year. It was really hard to indicate anything I liked other than location during the interview with Drs. Evans and Jackson, since the school didn't even exist yet.

I mailed my supplemental about a week and a half ago; the school has yet to cash the check.

I am at GA-PCOM, and we are finishing up our third week of classes. I'm not going to list the things that I wrote about in my secondary or what I said during interview, but if you have a chance to visit...itll definitely help. The school is also very focused on serving the south, and there is a considerable shortage of doctors in Georgia.

shortage of what type of docs? Family practice, specialties?

You should be getting a letter soon saying they have received your secondary and asks you to have your LORs sent, even though they have been..it takes a while to process everything.

I sent mine to both campuses 2 weeks or a few days more ago, received the PA letter early this week and just received the GA letter today.

If we prefer to go to the Philly campus, do you think we should withdraw our Atlanta application? Do you mean that if we are accepted to Atlanta, they will automatically not accept us to Philly and vice versa? Can they just pull your application from the Philly process if they accept you at the Atlanta campus?

Yeah, I will go to either one. If one doesn't like me, maybe the other will.

I called the admissions office this morning, and they said people have been interviewed and accepted to both in the past and they have no intention of changing that process this year. She explicitely said that if we are accepted to one campus it has no bearing, good, bad or otherwise, on our acceptance at the other campus. It is solely our decision where we want to go.

Just thought I would let those who might be concerned know what the admissions office had to say.

Thank you! Valuable information!

It didn't matter to me if I couldn't be accepted to both, since I can't attend 2 schools either! 😀
