i was a philosophy major. my only regret is going to medical school. doing philosophy was such a valuable experience that i will treasure for the rest of my life. it might even help you get into medical school, though i doubt it will help you once you get in.
I was a Philosophy major, as well (and doubled with Biology). I loved it! I think it made me think more critically, creatively, and logically, which can only help you in the long run with virtually any profession. My favorite part was having debates about abstract concepts, such as God, the creation of the world, the meaning of justice, etc.
I'm not sure if simply being a Philosophy major will help a person get accepted into medical school. If a person is passionate about Philosophy and does well in it, then maybe that will help. However, that could occur with any major field of study.
Happy philosophizing. 🙂

Why do you regret med school? where do you go?

not a full on major(just 2 very worthwhile classes) but my whole senior consisted of massive amounts of philo reading and hours of discussion with my professor(same one for both classes). those were some of my fondest academic memories from college.
i'm now pushing for my sis to study philosophy in college 🙂 plus, philo majors have better acceptance rates compared with biobots. philo just rocks all around and comes closest to that ideal, liberal education.
It always seems to me that philosophy is inherently limited. It is this attempt to reach truth about the world without ever amassing and analyzing evidence. 🙄

what the, are you kidding?

the process itself is most of the fun.
and if YOU form an argument based on very sound logic and convince others, then it can be very definitive and satisfying. check out the platonic dialogues to see what i mean.

Don't know what this means.
