Hey everyone, I was just curious as to what type of picture everyone put for some of their secondary applications. I know it has to be passport size, but did you just take a professional picture and make it smaller or did you go somewhere and get a passport picture made? This may be a stupid question to ask, but how did you attach the picture? (glue, tape,.etc.) Thanks.

usually a staple at the side or top. and i got a passport pic taken...they don't want glamour shots...hopefully 😉

usually, they want it to be 2"X2" or sometimes smaller.

Most schools I applied to didn't specify a size, but I think 2" X 2" is a pretty good standard to follow. I'll tape the pictures with clear tapes instead of staples though.

digital camera + photoshop + kodak picture printer at CVS = 8 pictures for $2.57 😀

lane is right...

digital camera + kodak station is the cheapest way of doing it....

Personally, I tried to have a picture of myself looking extra constipated.... I really feel like I should do my best to help them visualize that I will be like all their other students.

i actually thought about using a picture of myself immediately after my facial smash... i figure that would be a great way of grabbing an adcoms attention. i guess thats that probably overdoing it... mmm open compound facial fractures... Nummy!

i don't think you can screw up the picture part unless you get paste all over your application or something... (or you're just hideous to look at )

I just looked for a pic that made me look the most like a URM.

Did I just say that?

😱

I just went to CVS next door and had them take 30 passport style photos with their digital camera, print them out on photopaper and cut them for me--only $6.99! Great deal! I think Kinkos was the other place that does this locally (they do it anywhere in the US) but was more than double the price. Generally bring 3 passport photos to interviews, some require them (yale and cornell) when you come for your interview.

Coops

HAHAHAHAHAHA.........in one picture of mine, I wore a sombrero, and I was accepted!!!! 😀

Definately go for the digi-pic, its a very frugal way to go. I got some passports taken for ~$8/ 2 pics, and that was way too much. I've seen people use glamour shots for theirs, and that just makes me want to DIE LAUGHING:meanie:

I got my 2x2s at CVS. My interviewer at UNC actually said, "You know, this is a horrible, horrible picture of you."

OMG Sarah that's awful! Did that really happen??

I did the 4 passport photo thing at Walgreens, then scanned one at work and printed on color paper. Nothing fancy. I used clear tape on all four sides to stick it on.

Oh it definitely happened-- and I knew it was a horrible pic, so I just laughed it off. The guy at CVS was being really snarfy, and I didn't want to deal with him.... so I had just gone with the bad pic instead of having it retaken.

Oh well. Funny!

I took mine at one of those little kiosks in the train station where they put your picture on a hat or t-shirt or whatever. The guy was really nice and besides printing out my four pictures that I was paying for he also put the shot on a disc for me (I brought the disc) so I could email it to someone--I think it was Sinai that asked for that? i think he charged me $5.

The background was created by the guy from the next kiosk holding up a white t-shirt behind my head. It actually looked pretty good.

😎

I thought it was funny when schools specified that you were supposed to "use clear tape in the upper right hand corner" or whatever.. does it really matter?

OMG that is hysterical.

I had a friend that worked at a photography studio and she did them for me on a digital camera for freeeee! It's the picture I've posted like eleventy billion times in the Lounge. Come by some time and see! Oh, and double sided tape - very smart!
