Photo required for ERAS?

Do you guys know if a photo is required for ERAS? I didn't have one downloaded. Should I bother?

I believe it is required, if only for proof that you are who you say you are, etc. when you show up to interview/start work.

The photo as Id stated above is more for the program to recall who you are when they set their rank order.

Also, programs can't download your photo until they offer you an invitation for an interview.

I'm waiting for my goatee and lamb-chops to grow in full before I send off my picture.

Depends on the school. Our school tells us to bring in a passport photo, and they scan it in and upload to ERAS.

okay, so i'm about on button push away from sending off my apps to anesthsia programs (prelim and transitional will get sent off later). so, last check...

It's OK to send off my app on ERAS w/o a photo, correct?

Yes, you can send your app without a photo. A photo is not even required per ERAS, but is helpful.

oh, next question. on the examinations portion of eras, should both Steps II CK and CS be put on there but just tagged as "will take" at a such and such a date?

A word of advice on photos....try to go to a place that does passport photos frequently....I went to CVS and mine looks like a little bad. 🙁 Although, I only spent $4.00 for 16.....ya gets wot ya pays for, I guess.

Can't download? What's with that -- it appears that a lot of programs HAVE downloaded my photo (and I must say, it's quite a fabulous photo of me!!!)

Only photo if you're good-lookin. Consider a photo if your average (but take it in the dark). Completely leave it out if you are but-ass timberwolf ugly. Although no one mentions it, the program director WILL have to look at you during your residency. By the way ladies, if you're a hottie, take a couple sexy ones and send em my way. 😀

I noticed a lot of programs downloaded my photo and have not offered me an interview yet....So I am choosing to believe that they are all writing me emails and letters right now....I am still an optimist - the man is not getting me down!

While "downloaded", programs don't actually have access to your photos until after an interview offer..fyi.

Just give it time.....it's pretty early. I'm still waiting to hear from people on the west coast. I gues they're taking their time 🙂 It's worth the wait though.
