I have another question about transitioning from PTA into PT. If the 10 year window closed for prerequisites, would that mean that certain course would have to be redone since they have past the 10 years.

Most likely yes, but contact the schools you are interested in.

In my experience, schools were willing to work with me on non science pre reqs (such as English and psychology), but I had to retake all of the science pre reqs that were more than 10 years old. Also, you need to get with specific schools if you are thinking of using a PTA course as a pre-req. I've heard from a few contacts that some DPT schools didn't count those courses as equivalences (depends the course and description).

Can you tell me what program/where you're thinking of transitioning from PTA to PT?
I understand there is a bridge program somewhere in Texas in the United States specifically for transitioning form PTA to PT but I'm not aware of any other programs at this time and I'm curious is this is a growing trend.

I am got excepted into Herkimer for PTA but want to transition to the DPT at CSI. I was told by the head that if I had a PTA license as well as worked for a year then it would be a strong consideration. Mostly though I would have to retake courses.

Wow, that's a great thing to hear. Having a strong endorsement for acceptance makes a world of difference. I'm sorry to hear that you'll have to retake courses but I'm not shocked.
Let us know what you ultimately decide to do.
