I'm taking some extra upper level bioclasses for higher GPA/show my academic abilities after undergrad in engineering (gpa isn't that great).

Semester 1: (this past fall)
Genetics
Biochem
Microbio
Physio

This spring semester:
Developmental Bio
CellBio
Biochem II/
--The 4th class: Physical Chemistry vs. Endocrinology?

Is PHysical chemistry any good? An professor said to take P chem but I don't think that it's that useful or helpful. Any advice? The other class would be endocrinology, which I'm more interested in taking yet the professor said that the instructor hates students. Yet, I believe that endocrinology would be more medically-relevant and useful for me...

Your tips or thoughts are appreciated!

neither, both sound awful. PChem is very challenging at a lot of places and known to be a GPA killer.

you have a degree already, surely you know by now how important an instructor is to a class. this is a consideration far more important than whatever prep for med school you think you might be doing. how about evolution or immuno?

Pchem is heavy thermodynamics and quantum mechanics. I know at my school there is a pchem I and pchem II. Pchem I was thermo, the second was quantum. I thoroughly enjoyed the coursework and subject material. I'm pretty sure that this material would have little to no relevance to medical school though. Endocrine would definitely be more medically relevant.

Honestly though, if you are doing this to increase your GPA, ask which course you are better suited for and really look into the professors. If thermo doesn't scare you and the prof is easy, take pchem. If you are like most engineers I know who think chemistry is scary (this thought is also similar to many biology majors I meet), then I suggest endocrine if the prof is not too hard.
