Hello, I am a US citizen who somehow landed up in India for a Bachelors of Physiotherapy course (4.5 years) consisting of 4 years of theory (anatomy, gen med, gen surgery, ortho, biomech, electrotherapy, ect.), and 6 months of internship. I am currently in a Masters of cardio-thoracic physiotherapy 2 year course and will be returning to USA in 2017. That said, I would like to change over to either MD/DO, knowing it will take more study years, I am still considering it. Couple questions come around 1. Will the bpt/mpt be considered my pre med which will allow me to join and DO/MD school? 2. What are the steps I need to take once completing my MPT (credentials, npte, DPT?)
Can anyone please give me some advice on this?
Thank you!

Look up the prerequisites for medical school. If your studies fulfill those requirements by equivalency (you will need to have your transcripts evaluated), then yes. Pre-med usually consists of 1 year gen bio, 1 year gen chem, 1 year org chem, 1 year gen physics. Each school has their own set of admission criteria so you will have to check each school individually.
